Governing Body
Toucantopia is conducted as a democracy. Aside from the council of elders (5 experienced members of the community), everyone is to be created equal and must follow the same laws. The council of elders is to hold topia meetings so that the community can decide on disputes together. It is at the meetings where proposals are presented and voted on. Anyone may bring fourth a proposal, but the proposal must be voted on by all 150 members of the society. In order to be passed, the proposal must win by a two thirds vote. It is also at the meetings where members will be tried for wrong doings. The trials are much like the proposals. The elders will lead the conviction, but the punishment must ultimately be chosen by the Toucanese people.
